NOTICE OF HEARING
The State of Kansas To All Persons Concerned:
You are hereby notified that on the 15th day of January, 2020, a Petition to Sell Real Estate was filed in this Court by Lyla M. Edelman and Joyce M. Meyer, Administrators of the Estate of Keith E. “Butch” Rogers, Deceased, praying that they be permitted to sell certain real estate, more fully described as:
Lots 1 – 6, in Block 32; Lots 1 - 6 in Block 29; Lots 1-5 in Block 28; Lots 1-6 in Block 33; all of Block J; and, Lots 3 - 6 in Block 27, City of Fairview, Brown County, Kansas; and,    
Lot 4 and the West 18 feet of Lot 5, in Block 9, City of Fairview, Brown County, Kansas,

at private sale at no less than three-fourths of the appraised value, upon appraisal pursuant to K.S.A. 59-2307. You are required to file your written defenses thereto on or before the 13th day of February, 2020, at 9:00 o'clock a.m. of such day, in this Court, in the City of Hiawatha in Brown County, Kansas, at which time and place the cause will be heard. Should you fail, judgment and decree will be entered in due course upon the Petition.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING OF THE BROWN COUNTY
CONSERVATION DISTRICT


To all qualified electors residing within the boundaries of the Brown County Conservation District, notice is hereby given that pursuant to K.S.A. 2-1907, as amended, on the 30th day of January 2020, at 6:00 P.M., an annual meeting of the Brown County Conservation District will be held at the Fisher Community Center located at 201 E. Iowa, St Hiawatha, KS.

The meeting agenda shall include the following business items:

ONE:
The supervisors of the Brown County Conservation District shall make full and due report of their activities and financial affairs since the last annual meeting.

TWO:
They shall conduct an election by secret ballot of qualified electors there present, of two supervisors to serve for a term of three years from date of said meeting.

The terms of Jeff Compton and Curt Jacobsen are expiring.

All in the county of Brown in the State of Kansas.

ORDINANCE NO. 2077

On January 21, 2020, the governing body of the City of Hiawatha, Kansas passed an ordinance entitled:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF HIAWATHA, KANSAS IMPOSING A ONE-QUARTER PERCENT (0.25%) CITY-WIDE SALES TAX FOR GENERAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PURPOSES.

The Sales Tax levied and imposed by the Ordinance shall commence on April 1, 2020, upon expiration of an existing one-quarter percent (0.25%) City-wide sales tax, and to end on March 31, 2035, and the revenues generated by the Sales Tax are to be applied for economic development purposes. A complete text of the Ordinance may be obtained or viewed free of charge at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 701 Oregon St., Hiawatha, Kansas 66434. A reproduction of the Ordinance is available for not less than seven days following the publication date of this Summary at www.city ofhiawatha.org.

This Summary is hereby certified to be legally accurate and sufficient pursuant to the laws of the State of Kansas.
