The following are the Brown County Sheriff reports:

On Oct. 7, at approximately 8:25 p.m., a search warrant was conducted at 714 Iowa Street in Hiawatha, according to Sheriff John Merchant. The Brown County Sheriffs Drug Task Force initiated the investigation which led to the the arrest of three individuals.

Morton Alfrey, 60, of Hiawatha was arrested on charges of Possession of Meth, Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Steven Schler, 65, of Hiawatha was arrested on charges of Possession of Meth, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Sissy Wilson, 38, Hiawatha was arrested on a charge of Possession of Stimulants.

Brown County Attorney, Kansas Highway Patrol and Hiawatha PD assisted.

On Oct. 18, at 11:58 p.m., a Brown County deputy responded to a motorist assist in the vicinity of US 75 HWY near 200 Road. Upon interdiction with the driver, the deputy noticed the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Upon further investigation,

Kashon Dyer, 23, Omaha, NB was arrested on charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Oct. 17, at approximately 12:45 a.m. based on a traffic stop, a Brown County deputy arrested Brittney Kretzer, 32, Highland on charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Oct. 17, at approximately 7 p.m., based on a traffic stop, a Brown County deputy arrested Kirk Bigley, 59, Axtell on charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Oct. 17, at 5:45 p.m., Hiawatha PD requested assistance from a Brown County deputy to respond to the Hiawatha Hospital for assistance with a hostile individual. The deputy transported the individual to the Brown County Jail.
