Paul is dead

McCartney has been involved in one of the biggest conspiracy stories ever, when the rumour was started that he was dead and had been replaced by a look-alike. Rumour had it that Paul died in a car crash and the band replaced him to spare the fans the grief. The rumour began, when the official Beatles fan magazine, The Beatles Book, noted that on January 7, 1966 there had been terrible weather on the roads and said: "Towards the end of the day, a rumour swept London that Paul McCartney had been killed in a car crash on the M1. But of course, there was absolutely no truth in it at all. As Paul told Rolling Stone in 1974, “Someone from the office rang me up and said, ‘Look, Paul, you’re dead.’ And I said, ‘Oh, I don’t agree with that.’” Content Exchange Content Exchange
