A crowd gathered at the top of the hill to watch participants in the annual Nail Keg Derby, which is a tradition to start out the Fourth of July celebrations in Robinson.

The 2019 Nail Keg Derby Race is set for Thursday, July 4 in Robinson.

Sponsored by Ag Partners Cooperative, Inc., the event will get underway at 10 a.m. with registration/inspection/weigh in and practice runs at the top of the hill near the Robinson United Methodist Church.

First time drivers must complete three practice runs to race:

❯ Single Run No Ramp

❯ Single Run with Ramp

❯ Side by Side with Ramp

❯ Repeat drivers can take practice runs if desired.

❯ 11:30 – Registration closes at 11:30 a.m. with a driver’s meeting at 11:35. Races begin at noon.

❯ Entry fee is $20, to be paid on race day and age limit is 8 years and older. Total weight of car and driver cannot exceed 206 pounds.

❯ Trophies will be given to the top four places, with all of the participants receiving a participation medal.
