The Hiawatha High School vocal groups presented their final concerts of the year last week.
On Monday, May 8, the high school choirs — General, Concert and Headliners — all performed several selections for their individual groups and came together as one large group for a performance of “Take, O Take Those Lips Away” and “For the Beauty of the Earth.”
The Headliners performed “Fix You” and “Uptown Funk” with General Choir adding “Lean on Me,” “Streaming Sitcoms” and Concert Choir’s “Easy on Me” and “Breakaway.”
In addition to the music, Director Joshua May recognized seniors as well as all students who earned letters. Kim Nolte with the Hiawatha Music Club recognized Sapphyre Miller as the Outstanding Vocal Student.
On Thursday, May 11, the middle school vocal groups also performed their final concerts of the year — all under the direction of Mr. May.
