 • Vietnam Veteran Day will be celebrated at the American Legion Homer White Post 66 building from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Coffee, cinnamon rolls, hot chocolate and hot apple cider will be served at the event. Vietnam veteran flags will be flown in front of the building. The Homer White Post 66 building is located at 813 Oregon Street.

 • The Hiawatha Fire Department will host its annual pancake feed, 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The menu includes biscuits and gravy, pancakes, sausage, coffee, milk and orange juice. Free will donation is encouraged. Donations will be used for purchasing safety equipment, tools and training materials for the Fire Department. The breakfast will take place at the Hiawatha Fire Department building at 411 Oregon Street. The HFD will be serving while supplies last. For more information, readers can call 785-742-7125.
