“If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.” Many of us grew up with that saying ringing in our ears. But do our children today hear this? Have we forgotten it? It seems so to me.

Happy Hearts Christian Day Care was selected as August’s Member of the Month on Tuesday. Owned by Jannette and Brian Adock with Karyli Cavin as staff, Happy Hearts Christian Daycare is a Christian-based childcare center that teaches children life and school readiness skills.

The origin of our favorite songs and hymns is interesting and the story behind the beloved hymn “How Great Thou Art” is wonderful. It was written in the home of author and editor, Carl Boberg, a member of the Swedish Parliament from 1912 to 1931. The song was known in several countries before it finally reached the shores of the United States.

The elevator at the Morrill Public Library in Hiawatha is being replaced. Work is expected to begin on Thursday, Aug.

The Brown County Commissioners met on Monday to discuss the Brown County map, as well as budget details. Relating to map services being performed by Dick Horton Consulting, Commissioner Richard Lehmkuhl said that changing the Brown County map would cost money and was opposed to paying the money for any maps to be changed.
