The Hiawatha Red Hawks Boys Basketball (9-11, 5-5) season came to an end Friday night. They lost to the Osage City Indians (13-7, 6-4) in the first round of Sub State. The game was played in Osage City. The final score was 68-59.
Hiawatha Middle School’s Red Hawk Scholar’s Bowl team has steadily been placing at the meet at Riley County on Monday, Feb. 24, with group 7A placing at second and 8A placing at fourth.

The Brown County commissioners passed a motion approving limited zoning regulations to be adopted by the Brown County Planning Commission regarding wind development in Brown County.
The Brown County commission met with Landfill Director Don Pounds about a waste removal program and some complaints about the costs regarding this program.
