Senior Moments

The Horton Senior Citizens have had a wonderfully busy week. We continue to have Drums Alive. This is a really fun exercise group for seniors. We still have room for others to join in. We meet on Mondays at 9 a.m. at the Senior Center. Drums will also be performed at this Thursdays Brown County Senior Social on Sept. 25th!

Grace that is greater than all our sin

The grace of God is the unearned, unmerited favor that God extends to humanity, primarily through the gift of salvation in Jesus Christ. While commonly defined simply as “unmerited favor,” a deeper, scriptural understanding reveals it as an active, empowering force that transforms and sustains believers. This grace is central to the biblical narrative, appearing from the time of Noah and culminating in the person and work of Jesus.

Senior Moments

The Members of the Horton Senior Citizens were honored with a special tour of the laundry iron collection at the Everest Community Historical Society. Thank you so much for the tour and some wonderful history information provided by Brenda Troupe who assembled this wonderful collection. Those who were able to attend were Mary Patterson, Dean Mercer, Linda Messer, Carolyn Huguenin, Linda Burnett and Janice Langdon.

Choosing dialogue over division

Michael Keaton pointed out “Charlie Kirk [a Republican] was murdered to silence his speech, and three months earlier, former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman [a Democrat] and her husband Mark were murdered to silence their speech.” School shootings are escalating. On September 10th, a student in a Colorado school opened fire on other students. On August 27th, a 23 year-old fired through a window of Annunciation Catholic Church killing two students. Violence and hate speech in America have gotten out of hand.
