“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” The author of Hebrews makes this statement (11:1 NIV) just before giving us a Who’s Who list of the faithful of the Old Testament. We cannot see God, but we can see what God has created. Of course, believing that everything around us was created by God is an act of faith itself.
Homeowners go to great lengths to make their properties comfortable places to call home. Whether it’s new interior furnishings or renovated outdoor living areas or the installation of various smart home technologies, there’s no shortage of ways to upgrade a home with comfort in mind.
From behind a fenced area at White Cloud, a group of deer turn their attention to the viewer. They look with their black eyes almost in unison in a calm demeanor as they greet whomever visits them.
The Horton Senior Citizens Center welcomed visitors from Vintage Park in Hiawatha on March 10. We met new friends and some old friends that have visited before. We shared refreshments and good stories and celebrated the beginning of better weather. Vintage Park plans to continue to visit through the summer once every month.

The Horton Senior Center is holding out hope that spring is on the way even though the past week has been more winter-like, with snow and ice slowing us down. We will continue to forge ahead with our activities. The board meeting will be on March 11 and we will draw for our secret pall on that day also. Movie Nite will be on the March 13 at 5:30 p.m. and our pot luck dinner will be held on March 18, with coffee at 10 a.m. and the meal at 11:30 a.m.
