I have been informed by county residents of another scam circulating our area. Residents are being threatened through an email on their smartphone by someone who is telling the resident that they have installed spyware called “Pegasus” on their device and are watching them remotely.
The Board of Education met on a special meeting on Wednesday evening and voted to approve a 5.25 capital outlay. The special meeting was called because the vote to approve the budget on Monday evening was met with a 3-3 tie after a long discussion about the budget; board members Ian Schuetz, Brooklyn Schuetz and Mitch Brown voted in favor, while board members Griff Howard, Ryan Patton and Roni Tietjens Schuetz voted against.

Longtime Shelter Manager Phyllis Shafer retired from her position at the Brown County Humane Society. Vice President Sierra Goering said that July 27 was Shafer’s last date as the shelter manager.
