There’s something wonderful and exhilarating about getting lost on purpose. What I mean by this is, taking off driving in unfamiliar territory trying to find new places you’ve never been to. And if you happen to be with someone you love and the weather’s nice and you’ve got food on hand and your tank is full — well, then, it’s an adventure!

Columnist touted for city leadership 20 years ago

The Hiawatha Red Hawks and new head coach Wyatt Jiru did not get the momentum-building win they were hoping for on Friday night, as the team traveled to Royal Valley for a match up between two teams hoping to recover from disappointing 2023 seasons, and came a yard short of continuing a fourth quarter comeback attempt. The final result was an 18-13 Panther win, setting the Red Hawks off on an 0-1 start and hungry to pick up their first win the new Big East League in next Friday’s road tilt at Marysville.
