A Hiawatha youth won several awards--including a category in first place--at the 2025 57th National Junior Shorthorn Show and Youth Conference’s “Groovy in Grand Island” event in Grand Island, NE, which took place on June 21-June 28.

Robinson’s Fourth of July celebration has been jam packed with various activities and events in the past, and this year’s Independence Day celebration in the town also carries the tradition of drawing in a large crowd of people for the derby car competitions, a car and tractor show, a parade that took place on the afternoon of July 4.

Hiawatha Post 66 lost the first game of a double header on Friday night on June 27. They were defeated by the Senators Post 421 of Topeka by the score of 9-5. The loss was a tough one, as Hiawatha was ahead by four runs at one point.
