Two Hiawatha High School students received excellent ratings on their vocal solos at the State Solo/Small Ensemble music contest that was held at Southeast of Salina on Saturday, April 26.
The Red Hawk Forensics team competed at the State Festival competition at Wichita on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3. The result were three medalists and earning strong scoring in a one-act play competition, finishing up this spring’s forensics season.
Up until Thursday evening, the Hiawatha Red Hawks had lost six games that have been decided by one run on the season. Unfortunately, that trend changed and the Red Hawks lost by two and three runs.

The Hiawatha High School Red Hawk Track and Field Team competed at Rossville on Friday, April 25. The competition was fierce but both the girls and boys of the Hiawatha team persevered throughout the event.
There has been a rise in online media such as TikTok, Instagram, SnapChat, Facebook, online video games, etc. These platforms have made many lives easier to communicate with family and friends. When Covid-19 hit, the whole world changed. People couldn’t go outside without a mask and were told to just stay inside. The pandemic forced kids to stay inside and do online school and many adults lost their jobs.

The Morrill Public Library is sponsoring a Book Exchange and Family Craft on Saturday, May 31 at The Hiawatha Creamery as an outreach event to kick off the Summer Reading Program.
