Lady Red Hawks suffer defeat by Holton

The Lady Red Hawks competed with the Holton Wildcats at Hiawatha High School on Tuesday evening. Despite their best efforts, the Red Hawks were unable to get the upper hand against the Wildcats, leading to a defeat with the final scores being 2515 and 25-16 on the first game set and 25-17 on the second game set, leaving Hiawatha at 0-1 at League and 0-2 overall.

HHS Red Hawks hold scrimmage with football season about the corner

The Hiawatha High School Red Hawk football team hosted a scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 24. The team was split into two groups to run line offense and defense. The teams performed ball throwing, catching and massive tackling maneuvers to practice their football skills for the upcoming football season and to demonstrate these impressive skills to a small crowd that were present at the HHS practice field.

Chiefs show spark in second preseason loss

Week one of the preseason was unfortunately headlined by losing the team’s top free agent acquisition to an injury on the first play o the loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but this Saturday’s contest against the Detroit Lions was a different story, with highlights all over the field. The outcome may have been a 24-23 loss, but explosive and exciting plays out of the front line offense was enough to get the fanbase engaged.
