Some were simple, with small lit fixtures resembling Christmas trees. Others were far more elaborate, making one feel like they were stepping into a North Pole town of reindeer and lit up trees. Even a workshop for Santa could also be viewed.

Downtown Hiawatha was especially lit up, with various Christmas-themed icons like Santa Claus and candy canes located near and being hung on the street lights.
