Tuesday, Feb. 11 >
• Wildlife Adventures at the Morrill Public Library – monthly event sponsored by the K-State Extension Office, from 3:45-4:30 p.m. for elementary through middle school age students.
• Craig Foster from the Kansas Commission on Veteran Affairs will be available 1-3 p.m. in the Homer White American Legion Post, 813 Oregon St., in Hiawatha. As Regional Representative, Foster comes to the area so Veterans, their families or survivors can learn about VA services and benefits and file paperwork, locally. No appointment is necessary
• Mission Soup Day will be taking place at Hiawatha First Baptist Church. The First Baptist Church, located at 210 Lodge Rd. in Hiawatha, will have their annual Mission Soup Day. The menu will include chili, cheesy potato soup, chicken noodle soup, sandwiches, relishes and dessert. Meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Carry out containers will also be provided. Free will donations will be used for outreach missions of the church.
Wednesday, Feb. 12 >
• Morrill Public Library’s Wednesday Morning Book Club at 9:30 a.m. in the large meeting room.
Thursday, Feb. 13 >
• Morrill Public Library Happenings: Preschool Storytime at 10:30 a.m.; All day Valentine card and crafting day 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the large meeting room downstairs. Stop in to make a card for someone special! (This takes the place of regular Creative Hour this week)
Sunday, Feb. 16 >
• The Robinson Fire Department will be hosting a Roast Beef Dinner Fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 16. Meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Robinson Community Center at 118 Parsons Street in Robinson. The meal will be hot open roast beef sandwiches, green beans and will also feature dessert. The donations will be used to help support funding for the fire department’s equipment. Meal deliveries are available upon request to a 15 mile surrounding area. For more information, readers can call Jesse Clark at 785-741-2022 to reserve deliveries.
