Daniel (Dan) Moritz Hartung, 70, of Sabetha, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly at his home with his wife by his side.
Daniel was born on March 27, 1954, Pawnee City, Nebraska to John W. and Delores A. (Heuppelsheuser).
On May 19, 2007, Daniel married Kimberly (Van Osdol) in Robinson, Kansas. They would have celebrated 18 years of marriage in 2025. Daniel was previously married to Judith and later divorced. To this union, one son and two daughters were born: Heather, Nathan, and Farren.
Daniel’s hobbies included: working on vehicles and small engines, fishing, hunting, tinkering around, and 4-wheel riding. During his younger years, Daniel enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed collecting shot glasses, die cast cars/motorcycles/tractors, and lighters.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents John and Delores Hartung, siblings Max Hartung, Harlan Har◤CO Check hyphenation◢tung, and Doris Gillis, ex-wife Judith Knowles, and some in-laws.
Daniel is survived by his wife Kim, his buddy Chewy (dog) of the home, daughters Heather L. Hartung and significant other Jason Williamson, Table Rock, Nebraska, Farren Marie Hartung and significant other Terrance Whiting, Beatrice, Nebraska and Ashlee Mahoney, Omaha, Nebraska, son Nathan M. Hartung, Beatrice, Nebraska, grandchildren Trenton G. William◤CO Check hyphenation◢son, Jace D. Williamson, Eliana Human, Jasiah Human, Danidy Whiting, Haley Whiting, Nikolas Miller, and Maggie Miller, sisters Darlene Rohlmeier (Henry Jr.) and Hazel Lear, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.
Per Daniel’s request, he was cremated. A celebration of his life with be held on Friday 11 am at Popkess Mortuary, Sabetha, Kansas.
