This meeting opened with the annual memorial service for all of the community individuals and friends we lost during 2024. NEK Chaplain Lehmann read scripture and provided inspirational comments related to the loss of loved ones. He concluded his remarks by reading the poem, “Remember Me” by Margaret Mead. He then read the names of the 60 people we lost. Following the reading of the names, each volunteer placed colored crystal pieces on a board to make a design honoring each person. This will be framed and hung in the Hospice office.
President Schooler called the business meeting to order. The minutes of the January meeting were reviewed and approved as presented. An update of the family meal and bereavement snack schedule was distributed. The Volunteer Newsletter for March was made available. Congratulations were given to Watkins, who was honored in the Spotlight article.
Bottom gave the report of the current census. She also gave an update of the upcoming events for the Volunteers.
These included April 12, where the Touch-a-Truck event at the Horton Blue Building takes place at. We will have a Bake Sale and raffle of “Petunia,” the flower pot lady.
