Mary L. Morris –Mary passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 9th, 2025, at Maple Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hiawatha, Kansas.
 She was born June 10, 1956, the daughter of Louella and Merle Phinney. Here siblings are Larry Phinney, Charles Miller, Gary Phinney, Frank Phinney (and spouses) and a sister Patty. Mary was blessed with a daughter Kathryn Phinney and two grandchildren: Esther Griffey and Cody Griffey. Cody preceded her in death along with her parents and sister Patty.
 Mary has been a part of the Hiawatha community for many years and called Maple Heights home for the past 9 years. Mary never knew a stranger. She was always happy to meet new people. Mary used to sit in the lobby and greet employees and visitors, which doing her puzzle books. A social butterfly she was! Mary always knew what was going on with everyone. People enjoyed talking with her and seeing her smile. Mary enjoyed watching game shows, wresting and bingo.
 Mary quickly became a part of the Maple Heights family. Everyone loved her, and she loved them. Mary’s laugh, singing, and kind spirit will be forever missed. Plus she loved when her daughter Kathy called her she always had smile on her face her daughter loved her so much she will be missed by all.
 The family would like give big thanks to Maple Heights Nursing Home in Hiawatha. She is with Jesus now no more pain. My mom was wonderful person inside and out.
 A service in Mary’s honor will be hosted at Maple Heights Nursing Home, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Shane Spangler will officiate.
