The Wrestling cooperative that includes Hiawatha, Doniphan West and Troy traveled to Maur Hill recently. Schools competing at the meet were Maur Hill, Riverside, Doniphan West, Polo, Nemaha Central, Oskaloosa, Horton and Bishop Ward.
All the wrestlers participated well and are really starting to get in a groove. They are coming up against good, tough opponents but seem to be keeping right up with them.

The Lady Red Hawks were very consistent. In the 110 pound class, Bri Guilliams went 1-1. In the 115 pound class, Ava Wright went 1-1 and Clarissa Moyer was also 1-1, in the same class.
Xavier Boeckman went 2-1 in the 150 pound class.
Freshman Brenner Lowe was 2-1 in the 175 pound class.
Wrestlers new to wrestling have really picked it up and are showing the skills they have learned this season. New wrestler, Gabe Johnson had another great showing in the 215 pound class. He was undefeated at 3-0 and demonstrated total control in his matches.
Victor Rivera-Avalos wrestled in the Heavyweight class. He is quick for his size and very tenacious. His record on the day was 1-1.
The Redhawk Wrestlers also participated in a meet at St. Marys. This meet was well attended and very competitive.

This is how the Red Hawks placed:
Clarissa Moyer – 1st
Brenner Lowe – 2nd
Gabe Johnson – 5th
Victor Avalos – 6th
Xavier Boeckman – 6th
The team will travel to Holton for their next meet on Saturday January 25. Competition will start at 9 a.m.
