The Brown County commission unanimously approved selling a piece of land adjacent to the Brown County Landfill during Monday’s meeting.

The USD 415 Board of Education unanimously declared its intent to exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate during Monday’s meeting, and authorizing Director of Finance/Board Clerk Levi Thompson to submit the intent to exceed the rate.


Two City of Hiawatha employees were recognized for their service during Monday’s city commission meeting. Commissioner Brian Shefferd attended the meeting via Zoom call.

The swim meet that took place on Saturday, July 12 at Seneca featured many members of the Hiawatha Swim Team earning first place.
