Heavy rainfall poured down on Hiawatha that eventually changed to freezing snow but the Hiawatha High School Spring Vocal Concert still went into full swing on Tuesday, March 4 that featured a variety of choral pieces, with the Hiawatha Headliners providing an explosive and entertaining finish to the event.

The Board of Education of the Brown County Kansas Special Education Interlocal #615 held its regular March Board of Education meeting at 6:00 p.m. on March 5, 2025 at the Special Education Annex in Hiawatha.


The Brown County commissioners met on Friday, Feb. 28 and Monday, March 3 to discuss and approve various topics.

A sports legend who was born in Hiawatha was the subject of a presentation presented in two Atchison schools by an author and professor from the Kansas City Art Institute on Friday, Feb. 28.

The Lady Red Hawks played valiantly at Wellsville on Tuesday evening, but were beaten by the Wellsville Lady Eagles after a tough defensive battle. The total score from the event was 33-39.
