Hiawatha High School Red Hawk wrestlers will be competing this Friday and Saturday at a wrestling match in Salina at Fort Hays after having their tickets punched at the 4A National Wrestling Tournament that took place at Tonganoxie on Saturday, Feb. 22.

The City of Hiawatha commission approved a new 25-year land lease for the Hiawatha Baseball and Softball Club for the new softball field to be developed and included close at Noble Park during Monday evening’s meeting. City Commissioner Brian Shefferd was not present during the meeting.

It’s almost time for the Brown County Free Fairs annual fundraiser spotlight auction. This is the biggest 4-H fundraiser of the year in which area businesses and individuals donate merchandise and services to be auctioned off over KNZA radio on March 10 and 11. The flier with this year’s items has been delivered to area businesses to make them easy to pick up shopping in Everest, Horton, Hiawatha and Sabetha.
