Winners announced for 4th Annual Chris Vitt Memorial Golf Tournament
The 4th Annual Chris Vitt Memorial Golf Tournament was held at the Hiawatha Country Club on Saturday, October 4th. Nearly 50 golfers enjoyed a warm and windy day on the course, remembering Chris Vitt who taught Biology at the Hiawatha High School for nearly 35 years before passing away due to glioblastoma (Brain cancer) in April 2021. Vitt was also the golf coach and volleyball coach for many seasons. Proceeds from the tournament are used to fund a scholarship in Chris’ memory, assist local families dealing with significant health issues, and maintain the nature trail Vitt started behind the local high school.
