
Lady Mustangs Battle Through Busy Week, Finish Strong at TVL Tournament

The Doniphan West Mustangs celebrated Homecoming in style with a hard-fought 12-7 victory over the Maur Hill–Mount Academy Ravens on Friday, October 10, at Schroeder Field. Both teams battled through a physical, defensive contest, but the Mustangs found the end zone twice and held strong in the final minutes to secure the win.
It was a championship Saturday for Doniphan West volleyball as both the Varsity and JV teams claimed first-place finishes in their respective tournaments on October 4.
The Doniphan West junior varsity football team traveled to Centralia on Monday, September 29, earning a strong 32-14 victory over the Panthers. The JV Mustangs put together an efficient offensive effort and a steady defensive performance, securing another solid win on the road.
Doniphan West High School celebrated Homecoming Week 2025 with a full slate of spirited activities leading up to Friday night’s football victory. Students and staff participated in a week of themed spirit days, a competitive Powder Puff football game, and a parade through Main Street in Highland, all capped off with the Homecoming dance on Saturday evening.
After missing the Hiawatha meet on September 18 due to heavy rain, the Doniphan West cross country team was eager to return to competition. They did just that on Thursday, September 25, at the Nemaha Central Invitational held at Spring Creek Golf Course in Seneca.
The Homecoming parade starts at 2 p.m. followed by a community pep rally on Main Street. The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned during halftime of the DWHS vs. MH-MA football game on Friday, Oct. 10. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
The Doniphan West cross country team kicked off their 2025 season on Saturday, September 6, at the Marysville Country Club with an impressive showing against strong competition.
