
Lady Red Hawk golf team end season at 3-2-1A Sub-State
The Hiawatha High School Lady Red Hawk team finished their season at the 3-2-1A Sub-State at Silver Lake taking place at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course on Monday.

The Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks headed to Sabetha on Saturday for a tournament. The Lady Red Hawks took with them some momentum, winning five out of the last six matches in the two weeks leading up to this tournament.
The Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks hosted the Royal Valley Lady Panthers on Tuesday evening. The night was extra special as the Hiawatha Lady Red Hawk seniors were honored. Claire Twombly, Kaeleigh Ruckman, Quinn Boye, and Adison Williams were celebrated for their accomplishments. Chrissy Allen, Brylie Williams and Ashley Moreleda were also honored for their contributions.
The Lady Red Hawk golf team had two busy golf sessions in a row, with one hosted by Maur Hill on Wednesday, Oct. 8 and one hosted by Rossville on Thursday, Oct. 9.
The Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks made their way to Sabetha on Thursday evening. The Sabetha Lady Bluejays hosted a Triangular that also included the Rossville Lady Bulldogs.
The Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks gave their fans plenty to cheer about Tuesday evening as they hosted a triangular with the Sabetha Lady Bluejays and the St. Marys Lady Bears. With a blend of aggressive offense, gritty defense, and unmatched hustle, the Red Hawks played some of their best volleyball of the season and walked away with a clean 2-0 record on the night. The Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks displayed excellent passing, setting, spiking, digging, blocking and spent a lot of time on the floor diving for balls. Those in attendance, especially the student section, were extremely enthusiastic.
The Hiawatha High School Lady Red Hawk volleyball team traveled to Riley County High School to take on the Nemaha Central’s Thunder and Riley County’s own team, the Falcons. Despite Hiawatha’s best efforts and even coming close to winning some sets, it was defeated by both schools; Nemaha Central defeated the Red Hawks at sets of 17-25 and 22-25 and Riley County narrowly won with sets of 22-25 and 23-25.
The Lady Red Hawk Girls Golf team competed at the St. Marys Invitational on Thursday.
The Hiawatha Lady Red Hawk volleyball team hit the ground running this fall season at the Big East League Volleyball Triangular event on Tuesday, Sept. 2. Despite some strong plays from everyone involved, the Red Hawks were defeated by the Holton Wild Cats at 25-12 in both sets and the Perry-Lecompton Kaws at 25-21 in the first set and 25-15 in the second set.
