The Red Hawk Boys Baseball Team (5-5-1 overall, 3-5-1 district) played a double header Monday night at home against the Silver Lake Eagles (9-2 overall, 7-1 district). The Red Hawks won the first game, but lost the second. Silver Lake came into the games ranked ninth in the state.
The Hiawatha High School Red Hawk varsity baseball team defeated the Atchison County Tigers and the Valley Falls Dragons while going through a solid winning streak from Friday, April 11 to Saturday, April 12. Despite losing to Jefferson West’s own Tiger team on April 11, the Red Hawk boys’ varsity team demonstrated a high level of skill and tenacity as they played against all three teams on Friday and Saturday.
