Another school year means another great play being put together by the Hiawatha High School students.
The season has come to an end for the Hiawatha Red Hawks, as the team traveled to Hayden High School in Topeka for a rematch in the opening round of the Kansas Class 3A State Football Tournament.
The Hiawatha High school choir department had its first choir concert of the year on Oct.
Saturday marked the final race of the season for the Hiawatha cross country team, and the Lady Red Hawks did not disappoint, as the team finishing seventh as a squad, including one individual top 10 result at the Class 3A State meet at Lawrence’s Rim Rock Farm.Sophomore Pauly Rockey continued her outstanding season, finishing ninth in the biggest meet of the season, with a time of 20:01.2.

The Sabetha Golf Course was the setting of this year’s local Class 3A cross country Regional, as teams from across the corner of the state converged to attempt to qualify for next Saturday’s State Meet in Lawrence.

The Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks bounced back after a rough week last week, playing winning volleyball over the past week, winning three of their five games, including taking two of three at Monday’s Regional at Royal Valley.The Hawks started off the week wrapping up regular season play with a triangular at Sabetha, against the Bluejays and the Perry Lecompton Kaws.
