The Lady Red Hawk varsity volleyball team competed at the volleyball tournament held at Jefferson West on Saturday, Sept. 6.

The unseasonably cool weather provided ideal conditions for the Hiawatha Red Hawks’ first home football game. As the players warmed up, there were surely butterflies swarming in their stomachs. The time had come to put all of the hard mental and physical preparation to task. The players were welcomed to the field by the band, cheerleaders, the Hiawatha Hawkettes and many others. Most notably was the 1980 Hiawatha 4A State Football Champions, who were recognized earlier.
