Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks Sweep Two Matches In Straight Sets
The Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks gave their fans plenty to cheer about Tuesday evening as they hosted a triangular with the Sabetha Lady Bluejays and the St. Marys Lady Bears. With a blend of aggressive offense, gritty defense, and unmatched hustle, the Red Hawks played some of their best volleyball of the season and walked away with a clean 2-0 record on the night. The Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks displayed excellent passing, setting, spiking, digging, blocking and spent a lot of time on the floor diving for balls. Those in attendance, especially the student section, were extremely enthusiastic.
Food, fun and festivities at 67th Maple Leaf Festival
The 67th Maple Leaf Festival hit Hiawatha on Saturday, Sept. 27 with many musicians, a variety of food and item vendors and many members of the public attending to take in the many sights available at the Brown County Square.
Notice about suspicious activity in northern Brown County
I would like to inform county farmers and residents about some concerns that was brought to my attention this morning. I took several reports from farmers who were concerned about suspicious vehicles lurking around their fields recently.
