TOPEKA–The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) has announced several regulation updates taking effect September 12, including new discounted licenses for Kansas seniors and an extended season for night vision coyote hunting.

The Hiawatha High School Lady Red Hawk volleyball team traveled to Riley County High School to take on the Nemaha Central’s Thunder and Riley County’s own team, the Falcons. Despite Hiawatha’s best efforts and even coming close to winning some sets, it was defeated by both schools; Nemaha Central defeated the Red Hawks at sets of 17-25 and 22-25 and Riley County narrowly won with sets of 22-25 and 23-25.

Their funds help cover mortgages, rent, utilities, groceries, deductibles, and more. To support Hope Brown County’s mission to help those with cancer, a Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre titled ‘Death and Deceit on the Nile’ will be held as a fundraiser on October 3, 4, and 5, 2025. This production is presented by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals for Samuel French, Inc.
