The Hiawatha High School Lady Red Hawk team finished their season at the 3-2-1A Sub-State at Silver Lake taking place at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course on Monday.
The Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks hosted the Royal Valley Lady Panthers on Tuesday evening. The night was extra special as the Hiawatha Lady Red Hawk seniors were honored. Claire Twombly, Kaeleigh Ruckman, Quinn Boye, and Adison Williams were celebrated for their accomplishments. Chrissy Allen, Brylie Williams and Ashley Moreleda were also honored for their contributions.
The Hiawatha High School Red Hawk Cross Country Team traveled to Sabetha where the girls’ team placed first and there were seven individual medalists.
The Lady Red Hawk golf team had two busy golf sessions in a row, with one hosted by Maur Hill on Wednesday, Oct. 8 and one hosted by Rossville on Thursday, Oct. 9.
The Hiawatha Red Hawks hosted the powerful Hayden Wildcats at Memorial Stadium on Friday night, facing a tough test against one of Class 3A’s top-ranked teams. The Wildcats arrived with an undefeated 4-0 record and the confidence of being ranked No. 2 in the state by MaxPreps.
The Hiawatha High School Lady Red Hawks girls’ golf team competed at the Marysville Invitational that took place at Western Hills on Thursday, Sept. 25.
The unseasonably cool weather provided ideal conditions for the Hiawatha Red Hawks’ first home football game. As the players warmed up, there were surely butterflies swarming in their stomachs. The time had come to put all of the hard mental and physical preparation to task. The players were welcomed to the field by the band, cheerleaders, the Hiawatha Hawkettes and many others. Most notably was the 1980 Hiawatha 4A State Football Champions, who were recognized earlier.
The Hiawatha High School and Hiawatha Middle School Red Hawk football teams met on the practice field at HHS to participate in a pre-season morning scrimmage that took place on Saturday, Aug. 23.
Two members of the Hiawatha High School Red Hawk track team earned first place in two events at the Big East League track meet at Silverlake on Thursday, May 15.
