HCF Highlights: About Brown County Genealogical Society

The Brown County Genealogical Society was chartered in June 1997 by first president and founder Lyle Hinz. In 1999 we moved into our present building at 116 S 7th Street, Hiawatha with just a small amount of genealogy resources. Over the years we have grown our collection and we now house information from several surrounding communities, family histories that have been donated, funeral pamphlets, death notices from area papers and much more.

About the Golden Rule

I recently finished a series preaching through the Sermon on the Mount. This section in Matthew’s Gospel has some of the highest standards Christians are supposed to live up to. While much of it seems impossible to accomplish, I believe Jesus would expect us as his disciples to at least try. Of course, I don’t have the space in this brief article here to expound on the entire Sermon on the Mount.
