The Hiawatha Middle School Red Hawk Track and Field team competed at Onaga on Thursday, May 1.
Hiawatha Swim Team is a community focused organization that helps kids learn a love for a lifelong sport.
The Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks were at home last Thursday night. They played a double header against the Holton Lady Wildcats. The Lady Red Hawks were hoping to turn the corner in the season with a victory. The Lady Wildcats came into the contest on a nice streak of winning three of their last four games. The Lady Red Hawks struggled to score runs against the Lady Wildcats. The Lady Wildcats pitching was exceptional. The ball seemed to be very alive and found the strike zone with regularity. The Lady Red Hawks could only muster six hits for the game. They also stranded three of those runners on base. The Lady Wildcats combined numerous base hits with minimal fielding errors to run away with the game. The final score was 2-13 in favor of the Lady Wildcats. A bright spot in the game was Michaela Williams who went 2-for-3, with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
The April 17, 2025 Brown County Genealogical Society meeting was opened by Vice President Sandy Carter, with nine members and guests present.
The Hiawatha Middle School Red Hawk Track and Field team competed at Nemaha Central on Tuesday, April 29.
The Red Hawk Forensics team competed at the State Festival competition at Wichita on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3. The result were three medalists and earning strong scoring in a one-act play competition, finishing up this spring’s forensics season.
Up until Thursday evening, the Hiawatha Red Hawks had lost six games that have been decided by one run on the season. Unfortunately, that trend changed and the Red Hawks lost by two and three runs.
The organization is operated by the Eternal Hope Worship Center at 410 East Iowa.
