It’s almost time for the Brown County Free Fairs annual fundraiser spotlight auction. This is the biggest 4-H fundraiser of the year in which area businesses and individuals donate merchandise and services to be auctioned off over KNZA radio on March 10 and 11. The flier with this year’s items has been delivered to area businesses to make them easy to pick up shopping in Everest, Horton, Hiawatha and Sabetha.
EMPORIA, KS (02/24/2025)-- Ethan Michael Pruitt of Hiawatha, Kansas, was one of nearly 400 students who graduated from Emporia State University in December 2024.
The Hiawatha High School Red Hawk Forensics Team competed at the Marysville forensics meet on Saturday, Feb. 22, with different team members making different placements. This match was a quick turnaround compared to the Royal Valley, where the Red Hawk team members did not make any placements.
St. Ann Catholic Church will host its annual St. Ann Parish Annual Soup Day at 800 Hiawatha Avenue on Tuesday, March 4.
The Lady Red Hawks (9-8, 3-5), traveled to Elwood on Friday evening. They defeated the Riverside [Wathena-Elwood] Lady Cyclones (6-9, 6-5). The final score was 50-45.
