The evening of Friday, Oct. 24 was cold and drizzle rained down on the football field, but Hiawatha High School students and homecoming candidates Gus Smith and Claire Twombly were crowned as Homecoming King and Queen before the start of Hiawatha’s football game.

Homecoming was a real party in Hiawatha on Friday night, as the team helped the school celebrate in style with a big win over visiting Jeff West to earn their first victory of the season in what was also their first District matchup of the year.The Red Hawks saw a few key players return from injury, which helped the team on both sides of the ball.
