The Hiawatha Post 66 Braves senior baseball team had a rematch with the Corning Legion team on Wednesday, June 18. This rematch with the Corning team resulted in a split where Post 66 failed to gain a win in the first half of the game but managed to get the upper hand and win the second half; the first game was 11-16 with the win going to Corning and the second game was 13-6 going to Hiawatha.
The summer season for the Hiawatha Post 66 Braves senior team kicked off where they competed against Doniphan West on Sunday, June 1 in Wathena. Unfortunately, Post 66’s first game of the season was also its first loss, as the team lost the game with a total of 7-19.
As we prepare for a long weekend and make plans with our families and friends, remember what this weekend is about. Memorial Day is a day to remember our heroes that didn’t make it home. Remmeber their sacrifice and the honor in which they served to give us the freedoms we enjoy today.
