Senior Moments

The Horton Senior Citizens Center has been closed some days this week due to illnesses and outside activities. The fun stuff was an “Our Gang” bus trip to Kansas City to see a play on Wednesday. Prayers go out to those who are fighting various ailments or recovering from surgeries.

The Horton Senior Citizens hosted friends from Vintage Park in Hiawatha on Monday, April 14. Refreshments were served and visitors and members enjoyed talking about old memories and shared good times.

The Horton Senior Center members have had a quiet week beginning with coffee group on Tuesday morning. Coffee Group is usually quite lively with lots of stories and laughs and this week was no exception, including the goodies several of us brought in to share.

Friends of Hospice Volunteers meet on March 26

The monthly meeting of the NEK Friends of Hospice Volunteers met on Wednesday, March 26, at the Hospice office in Horton, KS. Those in attendance were President Rosemary Schooler, Vice President Alisa Britt, Secretary Betty Robison, Historian Dixie Westervelt, Charlene Branch, Donna Bottom, Nancy Burns, Shirley Browne, Terri Watkins, Social Worker Kendra Cowley, Office Manager Danielle Vaughn, Abby Boos RN, Clinical Supervisor, NEK Chaplain Mike Lehmann, and Michelle Bottom, Volunteer Coordinator.

The Horton Senior Citizens Movie for this month was “The Forge.” It was a sequel to “The War Room” and was very good and inspiring. Thank you to Shirley Foster for providing the movies for Movie Nite.
