The Horton Senior Citizens have had a wonderfully busy week. We continue to have Drums Alive. This is a really fun exercise group for seniors. We still have room for others to join in. We meet on Mondays at 9 a.m. at the Senior Center. Drums will also be performed at this Thursdays Brown County Senior Social on Sept. 25th!

The Members of the Horton Senior Citizens were honored with a special tour of the laundry iron collection at the Everest Community Historical Society. Thank you so much for the tour and some wonderful history information provided by Brenda Troupe who assembled this wonderful collection. Those who were able to attend were Mary Patterson, Dean Mercer, Linda Messer, Carolyn Huguenin, Linda Burnett and Janice Langdon.

The Horton Senior Citizens would like to thank everyone who brings in food for all of our activities. We never want for treats for Coffee Groups, Game Day, treats for visitors, and many other events. A big thank you goes to the Tim Stevens family for the large portions of food which will be used at our carry in dinner on Sept. 16. Their thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.

The Horton Senior Citizens Center is proud to announce that they are one of the sponsors of the upcoming Brown County Senior Social at the Fisher Center in Hiawatha, to be held on Sept. 25. The social will be totally free for all seniors with music, refreshments, door prizes and the KNZA wheel with cash prizes! Join us from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
