Saturday marked the final race of the season for the Hiawatha cross country team, and the Lady Red Hawks did not disappoint, as the team finishing seventh as a squad, including one individual top 10 result at the Class 3A State meet at Lawrence’s Rim Rock Farm.Sophomore Pauly Rockey continued her outstanding season, finishing ninth in the biggest meet of the season, with a time of 20:01.2.
What was a rollercoaster season for the Hiawatha Lady Red Hawk volleyball team came rolling back into the terminal on Saturday, as the team competed at the Class 3A Regional in Seneca.
The Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks bounced back after a rough week last week, playing winning volleyball over the past week, winning three of their five games, including taking two of three at Monday’s Regional at Royal Valley.The Hawks started off the week wrapping up regular season play with a triangular at Sabetha, against the Bluejays and the Perry Lecompton Kaws.
After a strong middle of the season to overcome a slow start, the Hiawatha Lady Red Hawk volleyball team found a rough patch over the past two weeks, including going 1-6 over the past week.
