
Red Hawk cross country team race in Sabetha
The Hiawatha High School Red Hawk Cross Country Team traveled to Sabetha where the girls’ team placed first and there were seven individual medalists.
The Hiawatha High School Red Hawk Cross Country Team traveled to Sabetha where the girls’ team placed first and there were seven individual medalists.
The Red Hawk cross country team competed at the 5K Holton Invitational on Thursday afternoon.
The Red Hawk Cross Country team will be coached again by Becky Shamburg, who has coached the cross country team for more than a decade. Despite losing Dani Morton--who was one of the top runners on the team--the Red Hawks will still have Pauly Rockey who was the state medalist from last year; Rockey placed at nine at the state meet which earned her all-state honors. The girls’ team overall won the regional cross country meet. Fellow top ranked returners for the girls’ team include Bri Guilliams and Ali Krauter.
Just two meets remain before the Hiawatha Red Hawk cross country team enters the most important stretch of the season.
