Oct. 10, 2025 was National Mental Health Day. The main idea of this day was to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world to help mobilize efforts in support of mental health. Mental health has been and will continue to be a growing topic in the world, as the rates fluctuate since previous years.
The Hiawatha High School Red Hawk football team traveled to Holton to take on its Wildcats football team during Holton’s homecoming on Friday, Oct. 17. After competing against Wildcats on their home turf, they ended up losing at 13-21 despite Hiawatha’s best efforts.
Hiawatha High School students are getting ready for their homecoming week that will begin this Monday, Oct. 20 and conclude with the homecoming football game, crowning, and dance on Friday, Oct. 24.
The Hiawatha High School Lady Red Hawk team finished their season at the 3-2-1A Sub-State at Silver Lake taking place at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course on Monday.
The Hiawatha Middle School Lady Red Hawks competed against Jefferson West on Thursday, Oct. 9.
The Hiawatha Lady Red Hawks hosted the Royal Valley Lady Panthers on Tuesday evening. The night was extra special as the Hiawatha Lady Red Hawk seniors were honored. Claire Twombly, Kaeleigh Ruckman, Quinn Boye, and Adison Williams were celebrated for their accomplishments. Chrissy Allen, Brylie Williams and Ashley Moreleda were also honored for their contributions.
The Hiawatha High School Red Hawk Cross Country Team traveled to Sabetha where the girls’ team placed first and there were seven individual medalists.
The Lady Red Hawk golf team had two busy golf sessions in a row, with one hosted by Maur Hill on Wednesday, Oct. 8 and one hosted by Rossville on Thursday, Oct. 9.
The Hiawatha High School Red Hawk cross country team traveled over to the Horton Invitational on Thursday, Oct. 2. The Red Hawks came out with winning five individual medals.
The Hiawatha High School Lady Red Hawk golf team traveled to the Big East League Tournament hosted by Jefferson West at Village Greens on Monday, Sept. 29.
