
Red Hawk Track and Field team compete at Sabetha meet

The Lady Red Hawks scored a major victory at home over the Rossville Lady Bulldogs on Thursday evening on May 8, with the total score being 9-5.
It was a difficult struggle at home at the Noble Park baseball field for the Hiawatha Red Hawk baseball team as they were defeated by the Rossville Bulldogs on Thursday night on May 8. The Bulldogs beat the Red Hawks at a total score of 23-2.
The Hiawatha Middle School Red Hawks competed at home, with the seventh grade girls scoring first place with 166 points and seventh grade boys earning first place with 160 points. Eighth grade girls earned first place with 153 points and eighth grade boys earned fourth place with 93 points.
The Hiawatha High School Red Hawk baseball varsity team has faced a tough season so far, and their clash with the Thunder team at Nemaha Valley resulted in a loss the baseball game that took place on Monday, May 5. The overall confrontation resulted in an overall score of 7-17, with the Thunder team taking the win.
The Red Hawk Forensics team competed at the State Festival competition at Wichita on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3. The result were three medalists and earning strong scoring in a one-act play competition, finishing up this spring’s forensics season.
April’s character word of the month was Perseverance. Grade level teachers chose one boy and one girl who showed the characteristics of Perseverance. Students received a certificate, a $5 gift card to the Hiawatha Creamery and a Red Hawk character kids t-shirt!
The Hiawatha Red Hawk Boys baseball team played the Perry-Lecompton Kaws last Monday night.
The Red Hawks played at home Thursday night. They lost both games to the Sabetha Bluejays. The score in game one was 1-2. The final tally in game two was 3-13.
The Hiawatha Red Hawk Track and Field team competed at home Tuesday evening as they competed with Doniphan West, Troy Public Schools, Maur Hill Academy, Nemaha Central and Riverside in a variety of events.
